Hard Mode available
Originally, I intended the browser release to be a free preview, and the downloadable executable to be a $1 paid version with an optional "hard mode" where you can use combat to get the "bad ending." Basically, it's a pacifist game where choosing to fight can get you trapped in hell. The combat is fairly hard. I decided to make the whole thing free because nobody was playing it anyway. Unfortunately, I don't have the original files so I can't recompile the game for browsers, so you need to download it. If you download the windows or mac version, you'll be able to go to Hard Mode areas and find enemies. It won't make it harder to get the Good Ending.
SPOILERS:
If you find the Mystery Warp and travel to the mirror room, you can change the class of any character by visiting their mirror. This process resets them to level 1, but grants the whole party a permanent buff in proportion to one or more of that character's stats. The buff depends on the character's personality. (Each character has a secret strength which they can share among their allies.) It's probably impossible to beat the game if you don't do this. The mirrors can be very powerful if a character is at maximum level. To get the Mystery Warp, walk left at the very beginning and open the treasure chest.
Also, please bear in mind that there are no resurrection effects in the game, so you should never let anybody die. Please save often.
